INTO THE ABYSS

There's a place you can only get to,
Sailing on darkness.
You arrive alone, with a drowned heart, and a mind full of doubt.

If any one falls there, they don't talk of it when they come out.
But they get a mark that will not fade.
In the eyes, disguising itself, as hopelessness or distraught.

You don't have to go there to know it's a scary place.
And its mark is just as scary, when someone reveals it's inside.
Those inside, can't be reached.
Those who come out, leave themselves behind.

The universe has many such places.
They stretch and bend the heart and mind,
Tests and teaches at the same time.
And a traveller is bound to go there sometimes.

If you happen to venture into one of them,
Know that you can come out.
Inside, this will be very hard to do,
But try to remember, that one day, you will again see the light.
